this piece lives at spookoze~ a magical place in florida inhabited by wonderous people who have the greatest of love & respect for our friends, the ravens~

many moons ago i lived in a funny lil neighborhood in brooklyn, & one day i found this giant canvas on the street put out with the garbage… i took it home to use~ the painting that was on it was grey & looked as tho someone had given up pretty quickly… i painted many versions of a heart on this thing over several years, even slashing it with a knife one time because it always looked so ugly to me! that must have done the trick & freed the ugliness demon trapped within because after i sewed up the slashes i proceeded to finally do a version i liked…
